Friday may 5th 2014 I went to see Cats the Musical at Temple Theater in Sanford and it was amazing. There was many tricky dance moves and lots of good energy on the stage. They did many flips, jumps, cartwheels, and high energy needed dance moves. All the cats wore special cat like costumes, wigs and false tails they even wore collars and cat like makeup. Back when the play what first established in 1982 the characters looked more ordinary.
The musical tells the story of a tribe of cats called the Jellicles and the night they make what is known as “the Jellicle choice” and decide which cat will ascend to the Heaviside layer and come back to a new life.
The show made its debut in America on Broadway on October 7, 1982, at the Winter Garden Theater with the same production team as in London. On June 19 1997, Cats became the longest-running musical in Broadway history with 6,138 performances. It closed on the 10th of September 2000, after a total of 7,485 performances.
Over all I thought the performance was outstanding and I would recommend this play. This is truly an amazing play.
