Statue Of Liberty

One of the most noticeable things that you see when you are entering the New York harbor is the enormous Statue of Liberty. It was given to us by the French as a symbol of friendship, however, there is great meaning to the statue. Over the years, Lady Liberty has been a symbolic icon to people all over the world.
To some people, her presence means freedom and a new beginning. During the American Revolution, America probably would not have been able to conquer the British and gain freedom without the help of the French.
The French helped a lot by supplying the U.S with plenty of money, ships, weapons and soldiers to fight against the British. Almost 100 years after the war, the French decided that they had a great deal in common with the US and wanted something to symbolize their close historic ties and their passion for freedom and liberty.
Because of the close bond between the two countries, the French decided that it would be a great idea to show the United States that they are close allies and exemplify the fact that they were also dedicated to the idea of human liberty. There was a great deal of work that was put into creating the statue. The French hired Frederic Auguste Bartholdi to sculpt the statue.
The statue of liberty is an amazing piece of art, and means lots of things to the Americans.

Skiing At Sugar Mountain

minnieskiing ski-clipart-3

Skiing is so much fun. When you ski you have to get tricky, sticky horrible boots on your feet. The boots attach to your ski’s which are super hard to get on. When we went to sugar mountain me and my cousin enrolled in ski school. We visited during the week so many kids would be at the school. We rented ski equipment and bought warm jackets to avoid the cold. Monday was the day we started skiing it was tough but we had cool ski teachers to help us out. We learned the basics of skiing. On Tuesday we learned how to ride the ski lift and go fast. We went on this slope called Easy Street. It was so much fun when we were on the ski lift with another ski teacher. On Wednesday we continued our journey on Easy Street. This time me and Lilly went on the ski lift together we had a technical difficulty but we sorted it out. We where sad to leave but had an amazing time. I hope to come again next year.

Thanksgiving 2014

dinner-table-clipart-Rcd6j6ec9-2Thanksgiving-Charlie-Brown-Snoopy

Thanksgiving is the prime time of year because of the weather and the food. This thanksgiving my dad and I had dinner with my aunt and uncle and my 2 cousins at my grandparents.

We were playing and having appetizers while we waited for our food.  Me and my  six year old cousin Lilly watched TV as my aunt took care of my baby cousin Alison who 8 months old.

When my grandma said “come and eat” we all ran into the dinning room like a stampede of hungry  hippo’s. We sat down and prayed for the lovely food, life and family god has given us. We devoured the heavenly turkey, sweet potato’s, gravy, stuffing, jelled cranberry and banana bread my aunt makes every year.

We had to keep my starving dog Kelsey in the cage because every year she eats the banana bread. As we ate I could hear my dog whimper and cry for a nibble of our food.

After our dinner we had apple pie and pumpkin cheesecake with savory vanilla ice-cream. Our whole family mostly enjoyed the pumpkin pie cheesecake. I absolutely relish going to my grandparents house for thanksgiving every year because it represents a great family gathering.

I hope you had an amazing thanksgiving.

Engineers An Awesome Proffesion

keep-calm-im-a-future-biomedical-engineer

Engineers create, innovate, and design things so the world can be a better place. Engineers are like scientist but they make the things possible by math. Math is needed when being an engineer and so is the ability to solve difficult problems.
There are many different kinds of engineers such as an Aerospace, Biomedical, Chemical, Civil, Computer and many more.
When I grow up I want to be a biomedical engineer. Biomedical engineers work in different areas of medicine focusing on various ways that technology can be used to treat biological or medical problems. Some examples of what biomedical engineers can do: Create a prosthetic leg designed especially for children; Grow tissues that helps repair damage from heart attack; Protect the environment by producing organic fertilizer; Grow vegetables that contain more nutrients; Develop treatments that don’t cause debilitating side effects.

Its sounds like a great job helping people who are ill. Since there is a great demand for biomedical engineers you will always have a job and a dependable amount of money. Biomedical Engineering will be a career to go into and I know that if you go into an engineering job you will not be setting yourself up for failure.

When you get out of college for engineering you will have no problem finding a job.

The History Of Athens

Athens is the patron city of Greece. Athens is named after the Greek goddess Athena. She was the goddess of wisdom, war, and civilization.

The Acropolis

The Acropolis was built on a hill in the middle of the city of Athens. Surrounded by stone walls, it was originally built as a citadel and fortress where the people could retreat when the city was attacked. Later, many temples and buildings were built here to overlook the city. It was still used as a fortress for some time.

At the center of the Acropolis is the Parthenon. This building was dedicated to the goddess Athena and was also used to store gold. Other temples were in the acropolis such as the Temple of Athena, Nike and the Erchtheum.

On the slope of the acropolis were theatres where plays and festivals were celebrated. The largest was the Theatre of Dionysus, god of wine and patron of the theatre. There were competitions held here to see who had written the best play. Up to 25,000 people could attend, and the design was so good that all could see and hear the play.

The Age of Pericles

The city of Ancient Athens reached its peak during the leadership of Pericles from 461 to 429 BC, called the Age of Pericles. During this time, Pericles promoted democracy, the arts, and literature. He also built many of the cities great structures including rebuilding much of the Acropolis and building the Parthenon
This city is amazing because it has beautiful architecture and was the birth of democracy.

Smile And Show Your Teeth

Teeth are very important as they are needed to bite, smile and chew food. You need to keep your teeth healthy and clean so you can look good with no problems.
Eating healthy foods helps keep your teeth strong. I recommend eating vegetables, meat, fish and fruits. Eating these foods will provide good nutrition so your teeth can grow strong. Candy is a bad food and you should keep it out of your diet. Candy causes cavities and makes your teeth fall out. Sugary drinks make your teeth weak and water and calcium help develop teeth better than anything else.
Brushing your teeth will help but if you eat the right foods that will help even more. Brushing your teeth and flossing will do you good. Braces cost a lot and getting dentist work done in general is expensive.
Keep your wallet happy, smile with clean teeth and take my advice.

What Is Real Milk?

filepicker-HHHtwpoSnlKel9hhVKAr_cows raw-milk1
Do you ever wonder what is in the milk that is sold in the supermarket? Most supermarkets sell pasteurized milk. Pasteurized milk is put into factories and is cooked at a very high degree. The heat of pasteurization takes away all the nutrients including the calcium and the very important vitamins.
Pasteurization caused 1,300 inmates in 11 state prisons to get sick.
Raw milk is a better way of getting nutrients. Raw milk has never had any negative health effects on any humans. Raw milk comes straight from the cow and doesn’t go to the factory. Raw milk is illegal to sell, but farmers may sell if it is used for an animal or pet. The best raw milk come from jersey cows that are grass fed and graze on pastures.
In a raw milk study by Dr. Ernest Scott and professor Lowell Erf studied rats. The rats who drank real raw milk had good growth, a sleek coat and clear eyes. These rats where friendly and liked being handled. The rats who were fed pasteurized milk where not nice and did not look good.
Some big industrial farms feed their milking cows corn, seeds, soy, or chicken manure which are not wholesome.
Now you know what’s in your milk and I hope you don’t choose the chicken manure over real raw yummy milk.
